The Long-Run Impacts of Temperature and Rainfall on Agricultural Growth in Sub-Saharan Africa

Agricultural sector is significant for Sub-Saharan African countries and highly exposed sensitive to climate change. This study aims investigate the overall long-run impacts of temperature precipitation on agricultural growth in 32 countries. As proposed by Chudik Pesaran, our estimations are based augmented autoregressive distributed lag(ARDL) modelling panel estimators with multifactor error structures. We estimate “dynamic common correlated effects (DCCE)” through cross-sectionally lag (CS-DL) approach as well (CS-ARDL). For robustness check, we also consider correction method (CS-ECM) dynamic process mean group (AMG). The suggests that rising temperatures have significantly developed a negative long-term relationship Africa. At same time, effect less important not statistically most estimations.
